Snorkling

 ON friday my class and I went snorkeling at the Glen Innes pools.We learnt how to swim and how to snorkel while kicking our feet to move around.We had to find what size flippers that we need and what size snorkel we need.We also had to buddy up with one person.We used a surfboard to help us float. And we just had to look under the water to see.we went all the way under water to clear out our snorkel and then we blow out.

Floating boat challenge

 

Today we did a floating challenge thingy. We had groups of four. we had to make our boat out of straws and with double sided apparently our bout didn't really float but it was fun.

Today my class and I did a thing called mathletics. It was hard for my group. the people in my group were me, Rongo, Omid We found it hard because our brains were not working today

Earth facts and theory's

 

Immersion assembly

 Today was the first day of term two. We had our team 5 assembly and then went to the immersion assembly in the hall.

We sat in our seats and then Mr Burt explained that our theme this term is 'Watch This Space'. He talked about how Maui was a great navigator. Then Mr Jacobson talked about a sextant and how it was used in the past to help sailors navigate. And then Mrs Nua acted like she was lost and didn’t know how to use and read a map. Mr Somerville talked about how a GPS works. He had a really cool watch that had a GPS on it as well.

All the teams did an item. Team 1 talked about the sun and where it goes at night. Team 2 talked about the moon/sun and the earth. Team 3 talked about a Maori myth/story.

My favourite item was from team 4 and from team five. Team 4’s movie was cool because it was about Guardians of the Galaxy. Team 5 did a play and talked about the magic school bus & the planets.
